What is a Bang?

A Bang is an event where writers and artists collaborate to create art and written pieces. Writers are given a minimum word count (that varies from bang to bang) and submit an outline/summary that artists view and choose from. It is the job of the moderators to look through all factors involved and create partnerships between both parties.

What is a Reverse Bang?

Take the traditional bang described above and use an Uno Reverse card. In a Reverse Bang, it is the artist who pitches the idea for the fic through a sketch or summary of what they are going to sketch, and the writer is the one to choose. Again the moderators will look through all factors involved and create partnerships between both parties.

What is a Pinch Hitter?

A Pinch Hitter is someone who is called in to take over for a party should they need to drop from the bang. The new creator is given the option of continuing forward with the original summary, sketch, or outline given, or creating a new piece. No penalty will be given should the original idea be denied. As a result of the team having a new format, extensions and exceptions are given to the expectations of the original schedule/minimum word count.

What is a Beta?

While there are many types of Betas, in this case, we’re talking about individuals who volunteer to look over a piece and give constructive criticism and help with grammar, and/or other asked for editing advice. Betas look over the given summaries for teams that are asking for their help and choose which ones they are comfortable and willing to work on. Moderators will then help to pair them with their teams.
